Job summary

Speechify builds accessible text-to-speech tools used by millions. As a backend engineer, you will design and maintain robust APIs, including payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics, in a fully distributed environment.

You will work with TS/Node, GCP, and Docker/Kubernetes to deliver scalable services, collaborate with enterprise teams, and influence product decisions in a fast-paced, async-friendly culture.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS/Azure or others.
• Efficient ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks by impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS and internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and enterprise integration needs.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
