Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend-focused engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS, Payment, Subscription, Auth, and Consumption Tracking. You will oversee the API landscape for performance and scalability and collaborate across teams to align architecture with product strategy.

You will work in a fully distributed company, delivering high-availability services and driving a user-centric platform that supports millions of readers and learners worldwide.

Qualifications

• Backend development using TS/Node.
• Experience with cloud providers GCP/AWS/Azure.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Docker experience for deployments.
• Kubernetes deployment experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions with enterprise clients for customization and integration needs.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
