Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer for the Platform team in Albuquerque, NM, to own backend services powering payments, subscriptions, and the public TTS API. You’ll work across product, mobile, and web teams to keep architecture ahead of product direction and scale to millions of users.

The role requires strong backend experience in TS/Node, plus hands-on cloud work with GCP and containerized deployments.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Direct experience using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure or another cloud is a plus.
• A habit of automating repetitive work.
• Ability to design robust APIs and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the API surface behind payments and subscriptions.
• Improve services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Ensure changes are correct before shipping and maintain checks post-release.
• Automate repetitive tasks and expand reusable components.
• Turn one-off work into repeatable patterns for the team.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations to support customers.
