Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend engineer to own and evolve the Platform team’s APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics for millions of users across iOS, Android, web, and extensions.

You will work with TS/Node, GCP, and containerized deployments, ensuring correctness, scalability, and cost efficiency as the product grows.

Qualifications

• Backend experience with TS/Node required.
• Working knowledge of GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Habit of handing off work and showing tangible outcomes.
• Ability to describe daily AI agent usage in detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
• Make services faster, cheaper, and harder to break.
• Ensure changes are correct before shipping and leave robust checks behind.
• Automate repetitive parts of the role and expand reusable processes.
• Turn one-off work into team-wide repeatable work.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend architecture ahead.
