Job summary

Speechify is hiring for a backend role on the Platform team. You will design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and the TTS API, ensuring correctness and scalability across multiple clients and platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node (required).
• Direct experience with GCP; working knowledge of AWS/Azure or another cloud.
• Habit of giving away work you used to own and showing results.
• Daily setup with AI agents running unattended and review process.
• Check results against logs, DB state, and actual requests, not summaries.
• Ability to explain why certain ideas were dropped and what not to build.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
• Optimize and harden services you didn’t write to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Ensure correctness before shipping and create lasting checks for future stability.
• Automate repetitive parts of your role to focus on higher-impact work.
• Turn one-off work into repeatable, scalable solutions.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers building on Speechify.
