Job summary

Speechify is a distributed, fully remote company building text-to-speech products used globally. The Platform team owns the backend powering payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and web.

As a backend engineer, you will design and own APIs, improve system reliability, and automate repetitive tasks. You will collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to stay ahead of product needs.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience with TS/Node in production systems.
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiar with AWS/Azure or other clouds is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and the public TTS API.
• Improve efficiency of services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Establish correctness checks before shipping changes and automate repetitive work.
