Job summary

Alfa Laval in Greer, SC is seeking a hands-on Shop/Assembly Technician to support receiving, inspecting, repairing, testing and packaging of equipment to our quality standards. This on-site role covers disassembly, gaskets, cleaning, painting and final assembly, following SOPs and safety guidelines.

You will operate basic measurement tools, use forklifts and cranes, maintain 5S housekeeping, and coordinate with Capital Sales for customer items.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a manual shop environment preferred.
• Experience operating forklift trucks, hand pallet jacks and overhead cranes preferred.
• Able to use measuring devices (tape measure, depth micrometer) as required.
• Good hand eye coordination.
• Flexible, Team Player.

Responsibilities

• Receives, counts, verifies, labels and stores all parts.
• Uncrates, removes gaskets, disassembles.
• For glued gaskets - processes plates per procedure and prepares for chemical dip.
• Fills out inspection reports and reads drawings as work moves through shop.
• Cleans units (pressure wash) and paints if specified.
• Installs gaskets per specification and completes post-assembly steps.
• Keeps work area clean following 5S standards.
• Picks up/delivers customer equipment as needed.
• Responsible for shipping, receiving and distribution of Alfa Laval equipment.
