Job summary

Alfa Laval in Greenwood, Indiana, is seeking a skilled technician to join our on-site Service Centre. You will disassemble, inspect, repair, test and reassemble machines and subassemblies to meet specifications, contributing to our after-sales success and customer satisfaction.

You will read drawings and blueprints, use precision tools, operate lifting and balancing equipment, and follow safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or Equivalent with relevant repair/workshop/manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches and work instructions.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical problems and using measuring tools (micrometers, gauges).
• Experience operating forklift trucks and overhead cranes is preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (clocking in, scanning bar codes).
• Knowledge of welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, test and assemble machines and subassemblies to restore to specification.
• Follow company safety, quality and process guidelines during repairs.
• Work from drawings, parts lists and blueprints to estimate repair costs, time and material needs.
• Set up and operate test stands and balancing equipment.
• Maintain organized work area and document test results.
• May perform some field service work when needed.
