Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Plastic Surgery Clinic and General Surgery units in Jacksonville, Florida. The RN will coordinate nursing care, provide direct patient care, educate patients and families, and contribute to transitions of care across the continuum.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and quality improvement, with requirements for a Baccalaureate nursing degree and Florida RN licensure, plus flexibility to work varied shifts and on-call hours.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
• One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care and patient/family education.
• Lead and participate in quality improvement efforts and committees as needed.
• Mentor and precept junior staff and participate in leadership activities.
• Possibly drive a personal vehicle as part of the role where required.
