Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Plastic Surgery team. The role supports preoperative and postoperative care for adult patients across subspecialties including Breast Reconstruction, Craniofacial Surgery, Lymphedema, and Gender-Affirming Care.

The RN conducts evaluations, education, patient counseling, and coordinates care with surgeons, residents, and NPs/PAs in a collaborative outpatient setting. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program recognized by ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA.
• One year of RN experience required.
• Must have at least one year of floor nursing experience and interest in patient education.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative and postoperative patient evaluation, counseling, and education.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and non-face-to-face patient triage.
• Manage orders and surgical listings in the electronic health record system.
• Provide leadership and mentoring within the nursing team.
