Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Plastic Surgery department in a busy outpatient setting. The RN will participate in preoperative and postoperative care across Breast Reconstruction, Craniofacial, Lymphedema and Gender-Affirming Care, with cross-training for other areas as needed.

Responsibilities include patient evaluation, education, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and using the EHR to manage orders and surgical listings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program recognized by ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA.
• One year of RN experience required.
• Evidence of baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years for entry-level RNs after April 1, 2020.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative and postoperative evaluation, counseling and education.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and non-face-to-face triage as needed.
• Use EHR to manage orders, surgical listings and coordinate with teams.
• Deliver patient education and support transitions of care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, residents, NPs/PAs and other staff to ensure quality care.
