Job summary

Wellstar Health System seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to support the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The role includes ambulatory management of cosmetic and reconstructive patients, first assisting in the operating room, and inpatient responsibilities with a multi-specialty group of plastic surgeons.

The position requires NP or PA licensure in Georgia, ANCC certification for NP, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing and ANCC-certified NP or equivalent GA licensure.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA or GA licensure for PA.

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly clinic as a stand-alone provider.
• Examine patients and determine the need for surgery.
• Review patient history and plan procedures with physician lead.
• Complete preparatory steps for surgery including informed consent and scheduling.
• Perform postoperative visits for select patients.
• Perform ambulatory procedures for cosmetic and reconstructive cases.
• First assist in the operating room.
• Promote activities and educational materials for the Plastics clinic.
