Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver patient-centered care in ambulatory and inpatient settings within a multi-specialty plastic surgery team. The role includes clinic scheduling, preoperative education, first assisting in the OR, postoperative follow-ups, and coordination with physicians and RNs to plan and execute procedures.

Candidates may be Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who are credentialed, certified, and current with BLS; GA

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioners must be ANCC-certified or licensed as an advanced practice nurse in GA with BLS.
• Physician Assistants must be NCCPA-certified and GA-licensed with BLS.
• Credentialing by the credentialing office is required to work.

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly clinic as a stand-alone provider.
• Examine patients and determine the need for surgery.
• Review medical history and plan procedures with physician lead.
• Prepare for surgery including informed consent and coordinating with schedulers and RNs.
• Perform postoperative visits for select patients.
• Perform ambulatory procedures including wound care and cosmetic/excisional biopsies.
• First assist in the operating room.
• Support Plastics clinic activities and provide educational materials.
