Job summary

Wellstar Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to support plastic and reconstructive surgery in ambulatory and inpatient settings. Responsibilities include first assist in the OR, preoperative planning, and postoperative care within a multi-specialty plastics team.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork, and coordination with surgeons, schedulers, and nursing staff to manage weekly clinics and surgical cases. Credentialing and ongoing education are required.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required; ANCC certification or GA Advanced Practice Nurse licensure.
• Current BLS; credentialed by credentialing office.
• For PA: graduated from accredited PA program; NCCPA certification; GA Composite Medical Board licensure; continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Practicing as a stand-alone provider by managing weekly clinic.
• Examine patients and make diagnoses to determine the need for surgery.
• Review patient medical history and plan the best procedure in consultation with physician lead.
• Complete preparatory steps for surgery including informed consent and scheduling with schedulers and RNs.
• Perform postoperative visits for select patients.
• Perform ambulatory procedures for wound care, cosmetics and biopsies.
• First assist in the operating room.
• Promote activities and programs for the Plastics clinic and provide educational materials.
