Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide patient-centered care within a multi-specialty plastics team. The role includes ambulatory management, preoperative planning, and intraoperative assistance in a busy surgical setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an NP or PA credential with appropriate state licensure, ANCC/NCCPA certification, and BLS, and will be credentialed to work by the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (NP) with ANCC certification or GA advanced practice licensure.
• PA degree from an accredited program with NCCPA certification and GA medical board licensure.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Credentialing completed by the credentialing office to work.
• Advanced certification in the specialized area if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide stand-alone NP/PA care in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Manage weekly clinic operations and patient consultations for plastic surgery patients.
• Assess patient history and plan procedures in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Obtain informed consent and coordinate preoperative education with schedulers and RNs.
• Perform postoperative visits for select patients as directed by the surgeon.
• Assist in ambulatory procedures, wound care, cosmetics, and excisional biopsies.
• First assist in the operating room and support Plastics clinic activities with educational materials.
