Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The role includes managing weekly clinics, examining patients for surgery needs, and collaborating with surgeons to determine optimal treatment plans.

The position requires a Nurse Practitioner with a Master's in Nursing and ANCC or GA APN licensure, plus BLS and full credentialing.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner with a Master's in Nursing and ANCC credential or GA APN licensure.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Must be credentialed by the credentialing office to work.
Physician Assistant: graduate of an accredited PA program with NCCPA certification and GA licensure; CME requirements apply.

Responsibilities

Provide as a stand-alone provider by managing a weekly clinic.
Examine patients and diagnose to determine need for surgery.
Review medical history and plan best procedure with physician lead.
Complete all prep steps for surgery and obtain informed consent.
Schedule surgery with clinic schedulers and RNs; provide preoperative education.
Perform postoperative visits for select patients and ambulatory procedures.
Assist in the operating room as first assistant.
Support Plastics clinic activities and provide educational materials.
