Job summary

Wellstar Health System is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The role includes ambulatory management of cosmetic and reconstructive patients, first assist in the operating room, and inpatient responsibilities with a multi-specialty group of plastic surgeons.

Qualifications

• NP or PA credentials required (NP with ANCC or PA-C with NCCPA)
• Masters in Nursing required for NP path or PA certification for PA path
• Active GA licensure or eligibility and BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly clinic as a stand-alone provider.
• Examine patients and diagnose surgical needs in consultation with physician lead.
• Review patient history and plan the best procedure for treatment.
• Complete preoperative steps including informed consent and scheduling with surgeons.
• Perform postoperative visits for select patients and assist in OR.
• Perform ambulatory procedures including wound care and excisional biopsies.
• Provide first assist in the operating room.
• Promote activities for the Plastics clinic and deliver educational materials.
