Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a phlebotomy-focused professional to perform plasmapheresis and venipuncture, ensuring donor safety and product quality. You will follow FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP guidelines while delivering excellent donor experiences.

The role includes equipment setup, machine operation, documentation, and adherence to strict safety protocols. You will support QA and participate in ongoing training and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent (GED).
• Three (3) months' experience in a medical or health care environment preferred.
• Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain high production standards and facility compliance.
• Deliver high-quality customer service, maintain a positive donor experience, and uphold donor confidentiality.
• Review donor identification, monitor donor conditions, and use techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and product quality.
• Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis; execute procedures and labeling.
• Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, troubleshoot alarms, manage adverse donor events, perform QCs, and document exceptions.
• Disconnect donors and dispose of biohazardous waste and contaminated equipment, including spills cleanup.
• Calibration/maintenance of machines daily to monthly; replace equipment as needed.
• Maintain documentation of records including Plasmapheresis Machine Logs.
