Job summary

CSL in Palm Bay, FL is seeking a Plasma Sample Specialist to accurately sample, test, ship and store donor plasma. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager and work in a fast-paced center environment.

Responsibilities include sterile collection, precise labeling, safe shipping, freezer monitoring, and strict adherence to SOPs, HSE and OSHA guidelines. A high school diploma and basic math skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months experience in laboratory or warehouse environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Will perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• In compliance with SOPs, collect plasma samples and move plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality.
• Ensure plasma units are properly stored according to SOPs, including unsuitable plasma units.
• Verify pre-printed label matches dynamic label to ensure accuracy.
• Use sterile technique to draw samples and use heat sealer to assure sterility and quality of plasma unit samples per SOPs.
• May pack and ship samples and units according to SOPs and center procedures; prepare shipping and unit disposal documentation.
• Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and report issues; record variances.
• Conduct daily calibration of equipment per SOPs.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper-immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies and forms are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies and procedures; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
