Job summary

CSL in Richmond, VA is seeking a Plasma Center Technician responsible for accurate sampling, testing, shipping and storage of donor plasma. You will follow SOPs and ensure proper labeling and sterile technique.

You will monitor freezers, document donor data, assist with packing and shipping, and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and HSE policies. Some cross-training and bilingual capability may be requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 months experience in laboratory or warehouse preferred.
• Basic math calculations must be performed.

Responsibilities

• Collect plasma samples and move units to freezer to maintain quality.
• Store plasma units according to SOPs and handle unusable units.
• Verify that pre-printed labels match dynamic labels for accurate unit labeling.
• Use sterile technique and heat sealer to ensure sterility of samples.
• Prepare shipping and unit disposal documentation in accordance with center procedures.
• Monitor temperatures of freezers and refrigerators and report variances.
• Record donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety in all actions.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
