Job summary

CSL Vifor in Baltimore is seeking a Plasma Sample Technician responsible for sampling, testing, shipping and storing donor plasma in strict SOP compliance. You will follow procedures to ensure platelets and plasma quality are preserved.

You will handle labeling, sterile technique, packing and shipping documents while monitoring temperatures and maintaining donor confidentiality. A high school diploma and at least 3 months in a lab or warehouse are required; bilingual skills may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months experience in a laboratory or warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect plasma samples and move units to freezer to maintain product quality.
• Store plasma units per SOPs and handle unsuitable units as needed.
• Verify pre-printed labels match dynamic labels to ensure accuracy.
• Use sterile technique for drawing samples and heat sealing to preserve sterility.
• Pack and ship samples and units; prepare shipping and disposal documentation.
• Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and report any equipment issues.
• Calibrate equipment daily as per SOPs.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information system.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organizational discretion.
