Job summary

CSL in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and manage donor care. This role includes immunizations administration, emergency care, and supervision of donor processes in a compliant center.

The ideal candidate holds an active paramedic/nursing/PA/medical school license in Michigan, with at least one year in a health care setting and familiarity with plasma collection centers.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school.
• Completion of a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school and only if also currently licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT in the state.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a health care environment or one year of clinical experience from a vocational or nursing institution.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.
• Ability to instruct donors, staff and community regarding the benefit of plasma donation programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer approved immunizations and provide emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Promote positive donor relations and conduct confidential donor interviews.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director or Center Physician.
• Review donor test results and assess ongoing donor suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
