Job summary

CSL Plasma seeks a qualified healthcare professional in Saginaw, MI to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, interview donors, and provide limited emergency medical care following licensure.

In collaboration with the Center Medical Director, you will address donor questions, review test results, counsel on reactive results, and ensure safe care per SOPs, escalating critical cases to the Center Physician or local providers as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also be licensed as a physician or state certification as an EMT.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as RN, MD or DO, or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to perform and analyze a physical assessment of heart and lung sounds and signs of drug use; local requirements may vary.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medication or treatments per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Collaborate with the Center Medical Director on donor questions and information needs.
• Review test results and assess continued donor suitability; monitor donor symptoms that may affect donation.
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local providers as required.
