Job summary

CSL Donor Center in Texas is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, administer approved immunizations, and provide limited emergency care to donors and staff.

You will conduct confidential donor interviews, assess medical histories, and collaborate with the Center Medical Director to address medically related questions, while ensuring compliant documentation and strict confidentiality in a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, naturopathic program or medical school required.
• Foreign allopathic/osteopathic medical school plus current physician license or EMT certification in state.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a health care environment or clinical training program.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze physical assessments (heart, lungs, signs of drug use).
• Ability to instruct donors, staff and community about plasma donation benefits.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures; administer approved immunizations; provide limited emergency medical care as permitted.
• Promote positive customer relations with all donors.
• Conduct confidential interviews to obtain information regarding donor suitability.
• Respond with the Center Medical Director to medically related questions and provide staff information on medical issues.
• Perform medical history reviews and health assessments; assess screening results for donor suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors for follow-up care.
• Explain informed consent, procedures, hazards, immunization schedules, and obtain consent signatures.
• Handle medical emergencies per SOPs; check emergency kits for supplies and dates.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability; adhere to four-month rules and approvals.
• Conduct ongoing immunization programs and oversee antibody titer reviews.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor, personnel, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
