Job summary

CSL is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and to administer approved immunizations. The role includes supervising donor health assessments, providing limited emergency medical care, and ensuring accurate donor data entry in the electronic system.

The position emphasizes donor relations, informed consent, and adherence to SOPs, HSE, and OSHA policies.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure required for paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school graduate.
• Foreign medical degree and current license or EMT certification if applicable.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or clinical training.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess physical signs and symptoms and conduct health assessments.
• Ability to instruct donors, staff and community on plasma donation benefits.
• Local legal/educational requirements may alter qualifications; refer to local documentation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer approved immunizations and provide limited emergency medical care.
• Promote positive customer relations with all donors.
• Conduct confidential donor interviews to determine donor suitability.
• Consult with Center Medical Director/Physician on donor suitability questions.
• Assess donor health per SOPs and test results to determine continued suitability.
• Explain informed consent and immunization schedules to donors.
• Respond to medical emergencies and maintain emergency kits.
• Maintain donor data in the electronic donor information system.
• Ensure adherence to Health Safety & Environmental and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual ability may be required.
