Job summary

CSL Plasma in Pontiac, MI is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for pheresis, administer immunizations, and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will conduct donor interviews, respond to medical questions with oversight, and ensure accurate recording of donor data in the center system.

The role requires active licensure in a relevant field, with 1+ year healthcare experience; plasma-center experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or clinical experience from a vocational or nursing program.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess physical heart and lung sounds and signs of drug use.
• Ability to instruct donors and staff about plasma donation programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer and supervise approved immunizations other than red blood cell immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Promote positive customer relations with all donors.
• Conduct confidential interviews with donors to assess suitability.
• Answer medically related questions with Center Medical Director/Physician.
• Review donor test results to determine suitability and refer as needed.
• Explain informed consent, procedures, risks, and immunization schedules.
• Handle emergencies per SOPs and manage emergency kits.
• Maintain donor data in the electronic management system.
• Ensure compliance with Health Safety & Environmental and OSHA policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
