Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a medically qualified professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, administer immunizations, and provide limited emergency care. You will conduct detailed donor interviews to ensure eligibility and maintain confidential records in a fast-paced plasma center.

Respond to medical questions with the Center Medical Director, review health histories, and counsel donors on reactive results.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or equivalent clinical exposure.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and supervise immunizations other than RBC immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure; administer necessary treatments.
• Promote positive donor relations and conduct confidential donor interviews for suitability.
• Coordinate with Center Medical Director/Physician on medically related questions and donor issues.
• Review donor medical history and screening results to determine ongoing donor suitability.
• Counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up care.
• Explain informed consent details and obtain signature and date.
• Handle medical emergencies per SOPs and maintain emergency kits.
• Maintain accurate donor data in the electronic donor information system; ensure up-to-date records.
• Uphold Health Safety, OSHA policies and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed; bilingual skills may be required.
