Job summary

CSL Vifor in Medford, OR seeks a Plasma Donor Pheresis Technician to collect plasma from donors following SOPs and FDA guidelines. The role focuses on venipuncture, machine monitoring, donor setup and ensuring donor safety and comfort.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least 1 year in a medical environment, plus willingness to learn PDA documentation and maintain strict confidentiality. This is a full-time on-site position with comprehensive safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For Centers located in CA the following experience is also required: Persons performing automated plasmapheresis procedures must be at a minimum state certified as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I, OR Current Registered Nurse by the State of California.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and monitor pheresis to collect plasma per SOPs.
• Perform all aspects of pheresis including donor setup, monitoring and disconnect.
• Perform venipuncture to initiate pheresis per SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate vein performance and prevent delays to ensure donor safety.
• Educate new donors on therapeutic products from plasma and donor policies.
• Monitor donors for adverse reactions and assist as needed.
• Use PDA to record pheresis incidents, alarms, and adverse events.
• Perform calibrations and verify maintenance; address alarms.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and document incidents.
• Monitor donor flow to maintain efficient turnout; alert supervisors.
• Collect arm or whole blood samples for testing.
• Record donor data accurately in the information system per SOPs.
• Understand hyperimmune program policies where applicable.
• Maintain clean work area and ensure supplies; follow HSE/OSHA.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel and donor information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
