Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Columbus, GA is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor adverse events, and notify donors of unsuitable results.

You’ll work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring medical and regulatory compliance in a plasma collection setting. Qualifications include EMT-B/EMT-A/I/P, LPN/LVN, RN licensure, CPR/AED, IV therapy, and FDA training, with at least two

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent incl. nursing program with state requirements.
• State licensure in EMT/Nurse roles (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, RN) and CPR/AED.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, HIV education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; coordinate with Center Physician as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for significant findings or medical issues.
• Support employee vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu).
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance; act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
