Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in McDonough, GA. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, manage donor adverse events, and notify donors of unsuitable results under guidance from the Center Manager and Center Physician.

A strong clinical background and state licensure are required. Responsibilities include evaluating donor reactions, following SOPs for emergencies, and supporting EHS and Medical Affairs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and nursing program credential per state requirements.
• Current licensure in the state for EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and screening tests.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unclear medical findings.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Possibly serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
