BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary in the United States, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review laboratory results, and communicate test outcomes under physician guidance.

The role requires state licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN), CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting. Training and compliance with FDA requirements are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsabilités

• Determine donor eligibility; include informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies including center physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Pandemic coordinator responsibilities as authorized by EHS and support investigations within the local community.
