Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services Houston seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. You will report to the Center Manager and support regulatory, EHS, and medical operations.

Open availability required between 2 PM and 10 PM; role is part-time and located at the Houston Richmond Ave center. Licensed RN/NP/PA with CPR/AED is required; FDA training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education and self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or medical issues.
• Support vaccination programs and occupational health requirements.
