Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support center operations in Humble, TX. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and manage donor safety under supervision from Center leadership and Center Physician.

The role requires RN/NP/PA licensure, CPR/AED certification, IV therapy readiness, and at least two years of clinical experience. Training is provided by BioLife and compliance with EHS and Medical Affairs is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to include graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program
• Current licensure or certification: RN, NP, or PA in the responsible state
• CPR and AED certification
• Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy
• FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility: informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical exam, SPE review
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and handle medical emergencies according to standing orders
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health/EHS
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations in the local community
