BioLife Plasma Services in Janesville, WI is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and inform donors of unsuitable results under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The role requires an LPN/LVN license, CPR/AED certification, basic IV therapy knowledge, and at least two years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed as LPN or LVN in the practicing state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and Center Physician standing orders.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues and donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Optionally operate as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations.
