Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Wisconsin seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (Medical Support Specialist) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review laboratory results, manage donor adverse events, and collaborate with Center Manager and Center Physician for medical guidance.

You will participate in vaccination programs and safety processes, while ensuring compliance with EHS and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nursing license as LPN/LVN.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state of employment (LPN or LVN).
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete BioLife Medical Support Specialist training per FDA requirements.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, and physical examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues and donor safety guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER per EHS guidance.
• Possibly serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
