Job summary

BioLife Plasma in Rockford, IL is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, conduct medical history interviews, perform physical exams, and review lab results under the Center Physician and Center Manager.

You will handle donor adverse events, follow SOPs for emergencies, assist with vaccination programs for staff, and coordinate with EHS for incidents.

Qualifications

• Licensed practical nurse (LPN) or licensed vocational nurse (LVN) in the state of assignment.
• Current CPR and AED certification required.
• IV therapy certification or training.
• At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Familiarity with regulations of plasma collection or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical examination, and lab review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; coordinate with Center Physician.
• Refer medical findings to Center Physician/Medical Affairs as needed for safety and eligibility.
• Support employee vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, seasonal flu) and incident reporting with EHS.
