Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist in Independence, MO. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, manage adverse events, and notify donors of unsuitable test results under Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

You will support vaccination programs, oversee incident reporting with EHS, and help ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with state licensure requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the responsible state (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, RN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history review, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical questions.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Potentially serve as Pandemic Coordinator as authorized.
