Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Abilene, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to oversee donor eligibility and manage clinical assessments. You will work closely with the Plasma Center Manager and support from the Center Physician in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include evaluating donor reactions and managing medical emergencies. The ideal candidate will have a current LPN or LVN license and at least two years of clinical experience. A competitive benefits package and a sign-on bonus of $1500 are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including recognized educational nursing program.
• Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities are assigned.
• Current CPR and AED certification required.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA-approved training requirements for role.
• At least 2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility through interviews and medical assessments.
• Manage adverse events and evaluate donor reactions per SOPs.
• Notify donors of unsuitable test results and refer to Medical Affairs.
• Support vaccination programs and manage employee incidents.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
