Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Mount Pleasant, WI to determine donor eligibility, review test results and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will support center operations under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

Qualifications include a nursing program credential and LVN/LPN license in the state, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or certified LVN/LPN in the state of responsibility.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with center physician standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemics within the local community.
