Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus graduation from an approved nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed LPN or LVN in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements.
• Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review SPE; monitor donor reactions per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and seasonal flu for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance; assume Pandemic Coordinator duties if authorized.
