Job summary

Takeda's BioLife Plasma Services in Vancouver, WA seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations, determining donor eligibility, handling adverse events, reviewing lab results, and coordinating with center physicians.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring compliance with FDA and EHS guidelines, and contribute to vaccination programs and donor safety in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• State-licensed or certified in the responsibilities state (EMT-A, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Meet basic IV therapy requirements in licensure state.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements.
• Review donor physical exams and serological test results (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for Guidance on unacceptable findings.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and assist pandemic investigations when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
