Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Greensboro, NC seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, obtain informed consent, conduct medical histories, oversee basic testing, and review lab results to identify unsuitable donations.

You will manage donor reactions and coordinate with the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires LPN/LVN licensure in the state, CPR/AED certification, IV therapy qualifications,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or nursing program graduation per state requirements.
• Current LPN/LVN license in the state of responsibility.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Authorized to perform basic IV therapy per state requirements.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist completed.
• At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history interview.
• Review laboratory results and notify donors of any unsuitable findings.
• Evaluate donor reactions and coordinate medical response per SOPs.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff.
• Manage employee incidents and escalate to occupational health/ER as needed.

Education
