Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to back plasma center operations and ensure high-quality donor care. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and support donor services and safety protocols.

The role requires an LPN/LVN license, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years of clinical experience, with responsibilities spanning donor screening, medical review, and coordination with physicians.

Qualifications

• Must hold LPN or LVN license in the assigned state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs, including donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER as needed.
• Pandemic Coordinator duties as authorized by EHS.
