Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Greensboro, NC seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to determine donor eligibility and oversee donor safety under physician guidance. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program graduation.
• Active LPN or LVN license in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs including standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues and donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees when applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and assist as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
