Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Charlotte, NC to ensure donor eligibility, safety, and high-quality center operations. The role works under the Center Manager and Center Physician, with responsibilities including nursing duties, data review, and adherence to regulatory standards.

The position requires an active LPN/LVN license, CPR/AED, state nursing requirements, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center orders.
• Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Assist in incident management and refer to EHS for guidance on employee incidents.
