Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, following SOPs and regulatory guidelines to protect donor safety and product quality.

The role requires nursing or EMT/paramedic credentials, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting, with responsibility for vaccine program support and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of a recognized nursing program.
• Current licenses for the state of licensure (EMT/paramedic or LPN/RN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-mandated training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, and physical examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and arrange medical emergencies per standing orders.
• Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs for issues affecting donor safety or eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS for follow-up.
