Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Virginia. You will determine donor eligibility, monitor donor safety, review laboratory results, and handle adverse events under center physician guidance.

The role requires relevant nursing or medical licensure, CPR/AED, and two years in a clinical setting. You will align with EHS guidance and bio-safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• State licensure/certification required (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN).
• CPR and AED certification required; IV therapy qualification as per state rules.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies following SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Possibly serve as Pandemic Coordinator as authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
