Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Hampton, VA. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The role requires nursing or EMT licensure in the applicable state, CPR/AED certification, and experience in a clinical or hospital setting. BioLife offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state requirements for nursing programs met.
• Current EMT/medical licenses (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN) where responsibility assigned.
• CPR and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and medical emergencies.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
