Job summary

The Shelly Company in Ohio seeks a Plant Manager to oversee mining operations, including personnel, equipment, and materials. You will ensure regulatory compliance and enforce safety practices across the site.

The role demands leadership, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with Quality Control and management to meet production targets. Night/weekend work and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Maintain a Mine Foreman certification with the Ohio Dept. of Mineral Resource Management.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to draft routine reports and communicate with customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct operations for above ground and underground aggregates mining crew, including personnel, equipment, trucking, and materials.
• Ensure all operations comply with federal and state regulations (OSHA, MSHA, DEP) and internal safety practices.
• Supervise facility personnel and allocate resources effectively.
• Enforce company safety rules and conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Identify and resolve regulatory, safety, personnel, and production problems promptly.
• Establish field calculations and communicate cost yields and accountabilities.
• Collaborate with Quality Control to meet specification requirements.
