Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, is seeking an Experienced Asphalt Plant Operator to manage daily operations of the HMA batch or drum plant in Ohio. The role involves running the plant, performing maintenance, welding, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The position may require night shifts and travel as needed, with on-site supervision and collaboration with forepersons, drivers, and customers. Prior experience with plant control systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and operating manuals.
• Experience with asphalt plant control systems preferred (Astec PM-II/III, TC2, Minds).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and upkeep of the asphalt plant.
• Inspect and maintain plant parts; access bags, dryer, burner.
• Load out asphalt and operate plant controls.
• Maintain front-end loaders and other heavy equipment.
• Complete daily production and sales paperwork as required.
• Identify safety hazards and enforce safety procedures.
